The stele is dedicated to the family of Gianna Zavatta, wife of the painter Pio Semeghini, a native of Mantua who moved to Verona during the Second World War. On the vertical plaque, the dead of the Zavatta Zampatelli family are remembered with a long list of names and some photos placed in oval frames. Pio Semeghini is instead portrayed in profile in the bronze medallion sculpted by Nereo Costantini and placed in the center of the base of the stele.
