Maragnolli monument

AUTHOR: Vittorio Meneghello

Monumento Maragnolli

Dedicated to the Marognolli family, the monument consists of a plaque in white marble resting on a pink marble base. At the center of the sepulchral stone is a seated woman holding her head with her right hand and with her left arm lying on the tombstone. The sculpture is a female version of Rodin’s Thinker and symbolizes the reflection on death and on earthly life inevitably destined to end. The figure stands out against a background decorated with creepers, a symbol of immortality and regeneration, and roses, a symbol of Mary.
