Luigi Marai is a little documented sculptor. Born in Verona on the 22nd of October 1834, he was a student of the Academy of Fine Arts G.B. Cignaroli and he put his name to several funerary monuments preserved in the Monumental Cemetery of Verona.
His name appears in the catalogues of exhibitions in Verona that took place between 1856 and 1900. The data shows that around 1879, he resided permanently in Milan. He also attended the Universal Exposition in Philadelphia in 1876. The year of his death is not known.
