Ronzani monument

AUTHOR: Luigi Marai

Monumento Ronzani

The monument is dedicated to Francesco Ronzani, Giuseppe Barbieri’s successor architect in directing the construction of the Monumental Cemetery: it was commissioned by his sister and probably it was Ronzani himself who designed the project. At the center of the monument the architect is portrayed in a clipeus by Luigi Marai and the simple composition of the composition refers to the first mausoleums erected in the cemetery, characterized by the classicist language. At the bottom, hooked with a ribbon to a laurel wreath, there are a row, a team and a compass, instruments of the profession of the deceased.
