Fiumi monument

AUTHOR: Ruperto Banterle

Monumento Fiumi

The monument, known as the Anelito Fuggente (Fleeing Soul), was created by Ruperto Banterle for the death of the poet’s mother and friend Lionello Fiumi, portrayed in a bronze bust. The sculptor conceives a subject of great sensuality inspired by the Michelangelo iconography of the Dying slave who, symbolically, can also be read as the interplay between life and death.
