Peccana monument

AUTHOR: Alessandro Puttinati

  • 1854
  • intercolumniation LIX

The monument was commissioned by the Peccana family who asked the sculptor to remain in the sphere of classical language. The funeral theme is expressed with an idealizing symbolism from a subject of mythological ancestry declined in a Christian key: inside an Neo-Renaissance style frame an angel is carved in bas-relief that indicates the sky to the soul of the deceased kneeling under him.
