Paronzini monument

AUTHOR: Vittorio Di Colbertaldo

  • 1929
  • front stylobate XXII

The monument is dedicated to the engineer Paronzini and combines the religious theme with the historical one linked to the Verona area. On the tombstone in porphyry there is a stone ark that recalls the sarcophagi used by the Scaligeri and, on the front side, there is a bronze bas-relief representing the theme of the mourning on the body of Christ deposited from the cross: in the center there is it is the body of Christ stretched out with Mary stretched out on him to embrace him and at the sides two kneeling women. The monument is completed by two planters and a brazier with an eternal bronze flame.
