Marchiori monument

AUTHOR: Egisto Zago

The monument is dedicated to Carlo Marchiori, Alpine colonel and second president of the Verona section of the National Alpine Association. Marchiori is represented in a bust placed on a pedestal leaning against one of the columns in the passage between the peristyle and the passage that connects the Cimitero Barbieri to the Cimitero Nuovo. Defined as the father of the Veronese Alpine, the colonel is in uniform, with the insignia of his degree and the hat with the characteristic black feather, and under the mustache shows a smiling expression as he looks at the viewer with a clear and rich look of humanity.
