The monument is dedicated to Giovanna Bernasconi, widow of Romeo De Lana, and consists of a base with nine portraits of the dead in as many oval frames and with a tombstone resting on top. At the center of the tombstone is depicted Giovanna Bernasconi, as indicated by the inscription below with the woman’s name, and above the effigy of the deceased woman a slumped female figure is carved in white marble.
