The monument has a sacred image in the center and for this reason it represents a novelty with respect to the cemetery regulations of the time, which considered the burial ground a sacred area but very distinct from the ecclesiastical one. The figure of the Redeemer in white marble descends majestically among the three-step tombs and is surrounded by a circle of praying angels: carved in the bronze high-relief, they form a sort of halo on the head of Christ.
