Bassani monument

AUTHOR: Albino Loro

  • 1912
  • front stylobate CLXXI

The monument was erected for Captain Bassani’s family and consists of a bronze sculpture and an architecture of yellow stone. The subject of the statue, a mother bending over her infant son holding in her arms, is not common in funerary art and was probably chosen by the family to pay homage to the untimely death of one of its members.
