Cabianca Crause chapel

AUTHOR: Marino Padovani and Nereo Costantini

  • 1953
  • sector C3, chapel 42

The monument was commissioned by Luigi Cabianca and has the particular structure of the open-air room that recalls the cloister. Above the entrance there is a mosaic depicting the good shepherd and a monogram with the first two Greek letters of the name of Christ. The wall that delimits the sacred space presents the characteristic Veronese two-color pattern given by the alternation between tufa and brick. Inside the enclosure are the tombstone and a bronze statue by Nereo Costantini, which depicts a seated friar with a prayer book on which reads “REQUIESCANT IN PACE”, from the Latin “rest in peace”.
