Zanella monument

AUTHOR: Ugo Zannoni

Monumento Zanella

In the family tomb rests Antonio Zanella, mathematician and plumber who in the nineteenth century left an important mark of his engineering education in the countryside of the Great Valleys of Verona thanks to significant works of reclamation and watercourse management. The statue depicts him seated with his eyes bent over the topographical plane of the Veronese valleys he holds on his knees. On the pedestal there are two crowns of flowers and, at the base, a bas-relief with some books in paper on which one can read “Del Bonificamento delle Valli Veronesi” (of the reclamation of the veronese valleys).
